In 2019, Leah Kagasa was an Ambassador of 'Wells of Life' a charity organization that drills boreholes in rural remote Uganda where it is hard or impossible to access clean water. Wells of Life has provided access to clean, pure and safe water to over 630,000 Ugandans. As an ambassador, Leah Kagasa became a spokesperson for the Wells of Life here in Uganda and used her influence to raise funds for the charity Organization. Leah Kagasa has also worked on a campaign under the Miss Uganda Foundation and Village Power to light up 10,000 rural homes in Uganda with solar energy.
Held the Miss Uganda title from 2016 to 2018 and has a bachelors degree in Marketing from Makerere University business school. She represented Uganda at the Miss World pageant in 2016 where she emerged among the top 50 out of 117 other contestants. During her Miss Uganda reign, she worked with a teenage mother's home called 'The remnant Generation' in her campaign to fight against teenage pregnancy. She worked with 'Reach a Hand Uganda' a charity organization that focuses on Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) by going to schools and educating students on these rights and issues. She also worked as health ambassador with the Ministry of Health in their nation-wide campaign to eradicate malaria in 2017.
Together with the Miss Uganda Foundation, in partnership with UNFPA, she was part of the “Keep a girl child in school” campaign with former Miss Uganda title holders - Miss Uganda 2012/13 Phiona Bizzu and Miss Uganda 2018/19 / Miss World Africa 2018 Abenakyo Quiin. They spread the message of believing in dreams, gender equality and also shared their personal stories and the importance of staying in school. They also met with the leaders of these areas to encourage girl child education and made a report on their findings with the hope that young girls’ dreams, rights and education will be protected.Leah Kagasa also earned a certificate acknowledging her charity work from the Miss World Beauty With A Purpose initiative. These certificates are awarded as an appreciation of what Miss World contestants do in their countries to create positive change. n 2017, Leah Kagasa was the first Miss Uganda to partner with Uganda North America Association Causes (UNAA Causes) on their “clean water campaign” UNAA Causes is an initiative in North America that brings Ugandans in USA and Canada together every year for business and raising funds for social issues back in Uganda. Funds raised from this partnership were used to refurbish water wells in Bweyogerere and Kawempe which increased access to clean water for the residents of those areas.
